It would be cool if you could, though. Like if you could see a list of the longs on the Kurzweil fund, call them up, and offer to sell them an imaginary fund that matches the Kurzweil fund performance. I guess it wouldn't jive with the SEC?

unlike mutual funds, hedge funds can and do hide their positions. Not only from outsiders, but even with their brokers (by mixing long positions and hedges, they never know what you are really long).
